PSMA’s August 2017 data release included the following changes:

PSMA Administrative Boundaries

Localities were added in VIC (11) and WA (1), and a locality was retired in NSW. Two localities in QLD with the same name had a Primary Postcode added for distinction. Other updates include:

  • New polygon records exist in the NT State Electoral Boundaries layer due to “exploding” of multi-part features.
  • QLD State Electoral Boundaries have been updated to include the 2017 Redistribution.
  • Mesh Blocks 2016: Population and Dwelling Counts have been included in this Release

PSMA CadLite

  • Cadastre Parcel Type Code: A new Parcel Type Code has been added to separate some records that require their own description. The change affects approximately 16,200 of the 5,116,700 features (about 0.32%) in the NSW CAD table.
  • VIC Cadastre Jurisdiction ID: A change to the calculation of the VIC Cadastre Jurisdiction ID has been made because some cadastre records were incorrectly being assigned to multiple cad polygon records.
  • ACT Cadastre Points: A significant number of duplicate points have been removed in the ACT Cadastre Point Table. These were previously supplied in error and mainly included points associated with the Nishi building in Acton and the Wayfarer building in Belconnen.
  • SA Property: There is an increase in the number of Property_Cad records to improve the connection between the Property table and the Cadastre table

PSMA Features of Interest

  • FEATURE_LINE data counts have increased from 1,240 to 4,192 (238%) for Victoria and 1,757 to 4,208 (139%) for South Australia due to an increase in supplied line features. Victorian features mainly consist of power line data and South Australian features are majority streams.
  • There was a processing error in the previous release of NSW Features of Interest data, resulting in the inclusion of duplicated features. Removal of these has resulted in a total of 54,058 fewer features (-4.74%) of which 45,662 are Unnamed Buildings.

PSMA G-NAF

  • SA & VIC Geocodes: Additional geocodes have been added to enable the use of a consistent address-level geocode type across all states and territories. PROPERTY CENTROID geocodes are now included for ACT and VIC.
  • Postcode Allocation: The process has been streamlined and made more consistent, with all addresses in a suburb/locality given the same postcode.
  • QLD Alias Addresses: Updated processing has resulted in improvements to the identification and building of relationships between alias and principal addresses.
  • Locality Only Addresses: Updated processing has reduced the number of locality only addresses

PSMA Land Tenure

  • Six new Jurisdiction Tenure Types have been added to the TAS_JURISDICTION_TENURE_TYPE table

PSMA Transport & Topography

  • SA Roads: A significant number of Street Line features were identified as missing in the May 2017 Release. These have been restored and some duplicate records removed.
  • NSW & VIC Rail and Rail Stations have been updated
